The Council on Aging is a non-profit organization providing services to seniors of Volusia County, Florida. The Council on Aging has been helping seniors deal with changes since 1967 and acts as a "gatekeeper" of most elder services in the surrounding communities.

disAbility Solutions for Independent Living - maximizes the leadership, empowerment, independence and productivity of seniors with disabilities, in order to promote and attain integration and full inclusion in all aspects of our society.  DSIL offers peer counseling, education, and advocacy for equal access.  DSIL also provides case management, modified phone equipment, independent living skills training classes, nursing home transition, and assistance with benefits, food stamps, Medicaid and ramp building. www.dsil.org

Easter Seals Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services
- specialized phones and ring signaling devices to individuals who are Deaf and hard of hearing.  This equipment is loaned to eligible individuals for as long as needed, at no charge.  Easter Seals provides the training to help clients use the phones and equipment.   Easter Seals Loan Closet provides equipment, such as wheelchairs, canes, and walkers to individuals in our community.  www.easterseals-volusiaflagler.org

National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) – National not for profit organization devoted exclusively to hospice care. NHPCO is dedicated to promoting and maintaining quality care for terminally ill persons and their families, and to making hospice an integral part of the U.S. health care system. You can also find a hospice that serves your area through this site.

Florida Hospices and Palliative Care, Inc. – the state organization of hospice providers in Florida. Their mission is to ensure quality hospice and palliative care is available and accessible to all Floridians.
