Florida Hospital HospiceCare offers complementary programs designed to provide a hospice patient and their family an "added" benefit. Not considered part of the hospice care covered under Medicare, complementary programs are the special things we do that set us apart from other hospice providers.

HospoochCare & HospussCare Pet Partners Program

Pet Partner visits provide an opportunity to improve the social and or emotional health of HospiceCare patients and their families. The benefits to you and your loved ones are reduced isolation, a welcome change of routine, entertainment, distraction from pain, boredom, and more. Clinical documentation also supports the animal-human bond aides in the reduction of blood pressure, reduction of depression and stress.

Life Legacies - Who Will Tell Your Story?

Florida Hospital HospiceCare is proud to offer Life Legacies, a program that gathers the patient's story as part of a lasting legacy for their loved ones. Guided by a trained volunteer, patients are recorded telling the tales of their life.



"Life Legacies has opened a window into the world of individual lives that otherwise might have remained closed, and thus a lost story,” says Mike Palmer, Volunteer Story Guide.  Offered at no charge to our patients, Life Legacies is a valuable treasure for those patients and families facing their final days.
