HospiceCare Inpatient Unit Moves to Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center

DAYTONA BEACH – On Monday, January 16, the Florida Hospital HospiceCare inpatient unit at Florida Hospital Oceanside was relocated to Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, 301 Memorial Medical Pkwy., Daytona Beach.  The unit, which was opened in March 2007 on the second floor of Florida Hospital Oceanside, provides Hospice care including acute symptom management 24 hours a day, seven days a week by hospice-trained staff.

In its new location on the ninth floor at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Florida Hospital HospiceCare will be able to provide this same comprehensive care, but in a location more accessible for patients and their loved ones. The hospital is ideally located on a 135-acre campus between LPGA Boulevard and State Road 40, just off of Williamson Boulevard and I-95, in Daytona Beach.

“This move to Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center ensures patients will receive specialized hospice care more quickly and consistently,” said JoAnne King, Administrative Director for Florida Hospital HospiceCare. “All 10 beds in the new location will be private and there will not be a break in service during this transition.”

"Opened in 2009, Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center is a 277-bed hospital in Daytona Beach.  Florida Hospital is dedicated to serving our community throughout every phase of life’s journey, from birth to end of life. Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center was designed to enhance comfort and support through natural light throughout the hospital, soothing colors and an outdoor healing garden complete with a waterfall," King said. “We are pleased that our Florida Hospital HospiceCare patients and families will be able to experience this environment.”
