Florida Hospital HospiceCare Expands Service to Orange and Osceola Counties
On June 28, Florida Hospital HospiceCare began offering services in Orange and Osceola counties. Florida Hospital HospiceCare has been serving the Volusia/Flagler area since 1996.
As part of the Florida Hospital continuum of care, Florida Hospital HospiceCare offers compassionate, life affirming care to patients who are facing life-limiting illness, and their families. The non-profit, faith-based hospice is committed to treating the whole person, not the disease, and also provides ongoing support to caretakers and loved ones.
“Offering services to the communities in Orange and Osceola counties was a natural progression for us to extend our mission in the Central Florida area,” said JoAnne King, Administrative Director for Florida Hospital HospiceCare.
King said expanding into Orange and Osceola counties supports the continuum of care offered by Florida Hospitals in that region, including Florida Hospital Orlando, Florida Hospital Apopka, Florida Hospital East Orlando, Florida Hospital Celebration, Florida Hospital Kissimmee and Winter Park Memorial Hospital.
Florida Hospital HospiceCare provides care at home, wherever home may be (private residence, nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital, etc.). The interdisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, chaplains, physicians, and volunteers, collaborates to support patients and families during this unique and important part of their life’s journey. The team provides support 24/7, including pain and symptom management, as well as emotional and spiritual support.
