Upon admission to the program, a plan of care is developed by the interdisciplinary team to
meet the specific needs of each patient-family unit. The professional staff is on call 24 hours
a day, seven days a week.  Our team members include:

• Physicians
• Nurses
• Social Workers
• Home Health Aides
• Chaplains
• Administrative Support Team
• Bereavement Counselors
• Other therapists as needed
• Specially trained volunteers

New Volunteer Coordinator

As HospiceCare has grown, so has our need for volunteers and the demands on staff has mirrored that growth. 

We are pleased to announce that Raeanne Cade has joined our staff and will take on the full-time role of Volunteer Coordinator.   Ms. Cade joins us from Loma Linda University Hospital in California where she managed a volunteer staff of almost 1800 volunteers.  Her experience in the field of developing new hospice services and programs for patients and their families will bring continued growth to our volunteer program.  Welcome, Raeanne!

For the past ten years, Barbara Cady has served as our Pat-time Volunteer Coordinator and has trained all of the volunteers who have supported the patients, families and programs of Florida Hospital HospiceCare.   She will now move into a new role as our part-time Volunteer Training Specialist and will continue to educate and orient those who are joining are volunteer team.  We commend Barbara on her years of service and know that the team of Cady and Cade will continue to enhance our fantastic volunteer program.

Congratulations & Kudos

Patricia Goodwin, ACSW, LCSW, our Psychosocial Coordinator, and Margaret Smith, RN, BSN, our Oceanside Inpatient Coordinator will be presenting a session at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Clinical Team Conference.  They will talk about ways to assist staff members with helping families during the crisis of terminal illness and hospice care. Pat will also be presenting a session on meeting family needs at the Colorado Center for Hospice and Palliative Care’s annual conference.  We are delighted that are staff members are going to share their expertise and bring back new ideas to benefit our program.

And our fearless leader - Aleda Kleckauskas, RN, BA, BSN, MSN, has been appointed to the Finance Committee of the state hospice organization - Florida Hospices and Palliative Care.
